Philosophy
A true education embraces the harmonious development of one’s mental, physical and spiritual powers. It prepares and individual to meet challenges of this world as well as preparing him to be fitted for the joy of service in this world and the world to come.


Goal

To equip students with essential skills and competence in teaching and research that will make them unique educators wherever they will be.


Vision

The School of Education envisions training teachers who will dedicate
their lives to facilitating their learners to develop to their full potential in
all aspects of their lives.


Objectives
The School of Education seeks to:

1. To train educators in the light of the Seventh day Adventist mission of education which places emphasis on restoring the image of God in humankind through a harmonious development of the physical, mental, spiritual and social powers.

2. To impart to students knowledge and skills that will enable them to confidently handle secondary school courses.

3. To equip students with relevant knowledge and skills to enable them assume leadership roles in the educational systems and other institutions of society.

4. To develop students who will seek to identify themselves with and create a positive impact on the youth who make up a large percentage of our society.

5. To prepare candidates for higher degrees.

Entry Requirements
For a BA or BSc with Education degree, one must satisfy the minimum university entry requirements. For a Diploma in Education, one must have at least two principal passes in the subjects chosen for a combination or an average of grade C (plain) and at least a C+ in the subject combination the student wants to study. For more details concerning admissions, please refer to the information provided in the General Information section of this bulletin.
Teachers with a Diploma in Education qualify for a degree course; those with a Grade III Teaching Certificate or its equivalent may register for the diploma course.
