This department offers the following secondary teaching subjects at degree
and diploma levels:
1. English Language
2. Literature
2. Kiswahili
In addition, the Department of Social Work and Social Administration offers
introductory courses in French and Sign Language.
Objectives:
The Department of Language Education seeks to:
1. Widen the linguistic competence of students in grammar and
vocabulary.
2. Develop proficiency and effectiveness in communication.
3. Meet the Church and global demands for language and
literature teachers.
4. Develop students’ analytical skills to help them understand their
world.
5. Inculcate in the students a love for research.
6. Encourage purposeful and independent reading.
